Harry Potter Paperback Box Set (Books 1-7)

Harry Potter Boxset (Harry Potter, #1-7) - J.K. Rowling I think Rowling is a wonderful storyteller. I may or may not agree or wish for another choice but overall she tells a good story. The style in which the story is told is something else entirely for me. I don't read Rowling for her writing style. I read Stein for that or Dos Passos. There are things I just loved in Book 7. Kracher's story being one. The fairly tale that Luna's father tells about the Deathly Hallows. I love that Neville led the rebellion at Hogwarts. That the ultimate battle was at the school, like so many fanfic writers have written years before the official ending. The whole mastering of the wand got confusing but hey if she says so. I loved that Harry was the last Horcruxes and that only the ultimate sacrifice made out of love was the answer. I had problems with Hermione oblivating her parents but that's me. Overall, it's a good romp and a fitting last book. The less said about the epilogue is fine by me. Some love it, some hate it. I'm a bit indifferent about it. It looked like a stop gag measure of some sorts. I read the book unspoiled, all the ups and downs and dramatic turns (and there are many) were just right.
