In the second novel in the Adrien English series we find Adrien experiencing writer's block after his first book has been accepted and is on the eve of being published. His relationship with his deep in the closet boyfriend doesn't help either. Adrien takes off for his grand mother's ranch, something he inherited when he was 8. He stumbles on to a dead body, a bunch of academic digging on his land for a lost mine and some very scary local native legend. It's entertaining, it's well plotted, yes you'll probably guess a few of the plot points, that's part of the charm for me. That and Adrien's boyfriend who comes to the realization he cares more than he thought possible.
