An Assembly Such as This: A Novel of Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman

An Assembly Such as This - Pamela Aidan First book of the retelling of Pride and Prejudice from Darcy pov. It's not bad. Much better than the previous retelling I read last year. It opens with the dance at the assembly hall and ends in London with Darcy having convinced Bingley that Jane might not be the best choice and leaving for Pemberley to spend Christmas with Georgiana. There's on obvious OC, that might be interesting, I don't know what the fuss is to tell the story from Darcy pov. It's written in a correct style, it's readable but I kinda long for a good remix of the story. Much like what fandom does. I guess this is not the book that will do it. I'll read the rest of the books if only to see what Aidan brings into the mix. But so far the only thing I find original is Darcy's valet Fletcher.
