L'adieu aux armes

L'adieu aux armes - Ernest Hemingway I liked the war part better than the doomed love story part. I especially like the whole retreat from the attack of the German section. I wasn't as impressed as I was expecting to be by Hemingway. Maybe possibly because I read this in French, might have lost some strength in the translation but still I found the love story kinda boring. Catherine was more like a fantasy Barbie doll then a real flesh and blood woman. As a reader I didn't connect with her. She came on as a lunatic most of time and I was very confused as to why Frederic was in love with her. I'll try Hemingway again but not in the near future.
