Faceless Killers

Faceless Killers (Wallander, #1) - Henning Mankell This is the opening novel of Mankell's famed Wallander series. As a reader we are taken to this glauque, gray and a bit depressing town in the south of Sweden. A town where the monotonous lives are more and more disturbed by violent crimes, drug traficking and murders. The double murders of local farmers starts a spree of violence against immigrants and refugees. Wallander tries to make sense of the violence, of the xenophobia in the mist of a hate campaign only highten by the medias. A strong opening bow for one of the major detective noir series in the genre.
