Third book of 4 of the retelling of Odysseus' tale from the fall of Troy to his return home. In this book, the focus is almost all on Odysseus trying to escape the Cassandra's curse by any means necessary and failing because he is human, his crew is human. So we get the Laestrygonians, giant cannibals, Circé, the sorceress, where Ulysses finds a way to the underworld to consult Tirésias for a way back home. This escape route ends in tragedy and Ulysses alone adrift. This is a good YA retelling of the classic. Some plot points are mixed and remixed to give it a more action pace to make it easier to follow. I still love the original much more than this retelling but it's interesting enough on its own.
