Brazzaville Plage (Points, R604)

Brazzaville plage - William Boyd A good, solid 3 1/2 stars. I especially enjoyed the structure of the narrative. 2 parts in the past, one part in the present. All intertwined, all connected. Hope, stands tall and strong throughout the novel. She knows she is adrift personally and professionally and doesn't try to lie to herself about it. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. The middle is a little slow and soft but it's saved by a strong finish. The chimps observation centre is really well done as is the collapse of Hope's marriage.
