This is a reread of one of my most beloved books ever. Definitely my favourite villain, Ivan Ogareff and a very heroic hero Michel Strogoff who with the help of a courageous and loyal young woman beats all the odds and defeats the villain and his evil master plan. There are some race fails, Nadia is only 16 years old (something I had forgotten) and the omniscient narrator is a bit annoying when he goes into his travel guide mode. Still, I loved every page of it, I smiled at the dynamic duo of journalists (Jolivet and Blount), I believed Marfa's unwavering love and courage in protecting her son. It's a quick and entertaining read still.
