A good and strong Holmes/Watson adventure out on the moors of Devonshire. Watson is a much more active participant in this tale of deceit, fear and supernatural superstition. I enjoyed the gloom and heavy feel of the land and how it became a larger than life character. I remembered in the end nothing, not even who the culprit was, my memory of who it was was wrong. All and all an entertaining read.
