Beautiful photography. We get the history of the most important summer villas built near Rome mostly by the Vatican's cardinals. Borgheses, Estes, Medicis, Borgias all of them built more and more extravagant villas, adding spaces, inherited, bought them among themselves. Most of them are now open to the public as museums, national buildings. A few are still privately own (which is what I was looking for actually) and opened for visits on demand. The book is a bit dated but the historical information is still solid, just not up to date.
