The Golden Compass, Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition (His Dark Materials, Book 1)(Rough-cut)

The Golden Compass - Philip Pullman First book of His Dark Material trilogy, it takes the reader into an universe not unlike our own. A world where human have daemons, animal companions, that are as close to them as anything or anyone can be. A human's daemons is like his soul. For an adult reader, Pullman creates a world where religion, self will and destiny are all intertwined into the life of a young girl, Lyra, who unknown to her has the destiny of the world on her shoulders. In the Golden Compass we go along with Lyra into the Far North in search of the Gobblers and to rescue the children they kidnap. This is a reread for me of this trilogy since the movie is coming out in December.
