My first Martha book. Nice little hints to the tv episodes (the hippos on the moon and Shakespeare). I liked the concept of this story. I usually fall for good versus evil kinda epic battle. This one is interesting because it's played very low key and with more of a psychological twist to the plot. It's Martha is the beginning of her adventures with the Doctor, still new to the mayhem and chaos he brings with him. Still, she is well used and not the damsel in distress, which is good in my book. The Doctor has one great "manic speech", you can almost hear Tennant deliver the lines. But it's more a reflective and thinking Doctor we get in the one than the all over the place, running like mad Doctor. Overall a good, solid story.
